    1984 SAINT TROPEZ AEROLITE COUGAR TECH - 266
    I just completely dis assembled this bike! I lightly cleaned each part individually. I chemically neutralized any rust by applying vinegar. I cleaned all of the bearings (except axles), and re greased them. I left the chainguard and the kickstand assembly off, and replaced the seat post clamp. This bike comes with the original kickstand, chainguard, and seat post clamp. This bike is rideable, and surprisingly fast! This is the only one of my vintage bikes that I would trust to ride.
    This 1984 Saint Tropez Aerolite Cougar Tech - 266 has a super rare frame gusset! The X double gusset with the TS in the middle can only be found in 1 Google image, and you have to look close to find it!
    There is very little information on Saint Tropez bikes in general, and even less for their BMX bikes. Supposedly the company was from Long Island, and the frame and forks were made by Mongoose. I am confident that this is a Mongoose made frame and fork. by design and the serial # configuration. I don't believe that Mongoose ever used a gusset anything like this.
